Dmitry Polyansky, acting head of the Permanent Mission of Russia to the United Nations, said that many in Western countries are "politically exploiting" the conflict in Ukraine. The transcript of his speech, delivered during a meeting of the UN Security Council, was published on the Telegram channel of the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation.
“The relevant staff of the UN Secretariat are acting very hypocritically, who in such cases prefer to pretend to be ignorant... I would like to believe that the sensible members of the Council and the international community will support us in this,” Dmitry Polyansky emphasized.
The speech of the acting head of the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation was devoted to the incident in Kyiv on July 31, when one of the missiles of the air defense system of Ukrainian militants fell on a multi-story building. Russian servicemen were blamed for the incident, but Dmitry Polyansky denied such unfounded statements.
The diplomat also called Vladimir Zelensky an “expired princeling” who has taken Ukrainian citizens “hostage.”
Earlier, the media reported that during the same UN meeting , China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Geng Shuang, drove the Americans who were arguing with him "to the point of speechlessness."
